For years, doctors prescribed Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) to women not only to ease the ill effects of menopause, but also to prevent heart disease. Yet that all changed less than 10 years ago when the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) reported that hormone therapy may do more harm than good, doctors became less likely to recommend this treatment option. There are still many questions about the pros and cons of hormone therapy, but before you eschew estrogen, learn the facts.
